Suria KLCC celebrates Christmas

Suria KLCC and Alamanda shopping malls pledged to raise funds for ANGSANAcare as part of their concerted and continuous efforts in giving back to the community mainly to the underprivileged individuals during this festive season.  ANGSANAcare is a fully registered non-profit Malaysian organization created as a support service to palliative care for underprivileged paediatric patients and their families in government hospitals in Malaysia.

“ANGSANAcare rely completely on public and corporate donations to continue providing free services to their patients.  Our aim is to raise RM10,000 through the sales of gift boxes from 26 November until 26 December,” said Andrew Brien, Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of Suria KLCC. He added, “Shoppers and visitors of Suria KLCC can do their part to make a difference in the lives of these children. Donate RM10.00 for a gift box, write down your name on the gift box, and place it at our Christmas art installation decoration on ground floor Park Mall entrance.  100% from the proceeds collected will be channeled to ANGSANAcare.”
Also present at the event was the Chairperson of ANGSANAcare, Ria Thomas. “Paediatric palliative care patients live with fear, stress and uncertainty.  ANGSANAcare psychotherapists assess and support the emotional needs of the children in their care,” explained Ms Thomas.   She added, “They provide play, art and music therapy to these children with the aim of facilitating enjoyment and peace in their last days. Studies prove that these therapies not only allow children to express themselves more freely, but also successfully aid in the reduction of physical pain. Play, art and music therapies help them to focus their minds elsewhere whilst simultaneously creating an outlet for their fragile emotions.”
Suria KLCC and Alamanda would like to urge members of the public to support and help raise awareness about the programme through #SuriaKLCCcares

One of the most anticipated activities among shoppers and visitors during festive celebrations is mall decoration. Thus, every year, Suria KLCC develops new theme to create excitement among shoppers and visitors. This year’s Christmas decoration theme is Santa’s Village. A cluster of small cottages, shops and artisanal buildings with Northern European influenced architecture had been built at Suria KLCC centre court. Christmas trees beautifully adorned with ornaments and brightly colored lightings were fabricated to create a festive atmosphere.

Aside from decoration in the mall, a 32 meter (100 feet) Christmas tree majestically graced the KLCC Esplanade.   This Christmas tree had been recognized by The Malaysia Book of Records as the Tallest Christmas Tree in Malaysia in 2014 and 2015, and is a gift from Suria KLCC to all shoppers and visitors.  The tree will be up at the KLCC Esplanade until 3 January 2017.  Standing at 32 meters in height, 14 meters in width, 12.2 meters in diameter and 41,698 kg in weight, this tree is adorned with 2500 baubles,  3714 garland leaves , 40000 LED bulbs and 319 pieces of star shaped LED lights. Members of the public can tag #tallestXmastreeSuriaKLCC for photos of them at the Tallest Christmas Tree in Malaysia.

It is the season of giving thus Suria KLCC will reward its shoppers with gifts for purchases made from 26 November 2016 until 3 January 2017.  Two exclusive gifts await shoppers who spend a minimum of RM650 and RM3,000 respectively.  For those who spend RM650 and above in a single receipt will receive an exclusive teapot set while, those who spend RM3,000 and above in a single receipt will receive Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater set. Adding more excitement, there will be a variety of dazzling Christmas performances throughout this period.  Among them includes classic and contemporary Christmas caroling, Christmas themed ballet dances, Highland Pipes & Drums, Korean Community Group choir, hip hop, modern and jazz dance, and children string ensemble.  Christmas is incomplete without Santa Claus. Therefore, there will meet & greet sessions with Santa Claus and Miss Claus during this festive season.    To those who enjoy classical Christmas songs, an enthralling performance by the Malaysia Youth Philharmonic Orchestra will be held on 11 December at 8.00pm.  Members of the public can tag #Alliwant4Xmas2016 for photos or videos taken at Suria KLCC to spread the festive cheer.
