Guan Yin Pusa A Musical Sneak Preview

Just last week, I had a chance to have a sneak preview of Guan Yin Pusa, A Musical at the Black Box, Publika.
The props are setup for the sneak preview and is all ready for the few invited audience and guests to have a peek of what's to come from the actual musical show.

From the name itself, I'm sure you can decipher that this is more of a religious kind of musical although it is opened for the public to enjoy. Well, I'm not a person who's very into religious things although I did do a lot of research on different religions and was once quite a devout Christian but I thought what the heck. I am interested in how they're turning this Guan Yin Pusa story into a musical and it is a very good chance to take a break from the ever ravenous world of the corporate world.

It started off with the hosts, one female who's introducing in Mandarin and a male host who relates the same thing but in English.
They introduced to some of the key individuals who made the show happened and some of the VIP guests that were present as well.
They also dabbled a little on the works of Yayasan Guan Yin where it is a foundation that promotes Buddhist Activities, Cultural and Educational Programs and doing community services.

The scene that was shown during the sneak preview was the 2nd scene where it's theme were on the anguish lovers and house on fire in three realms.
I was mighty impress with the male singer where I find him strong in his vocals and powerful in his projection. On top of that, the props and the emotions conveyed from the scene of the musical were impressive enough in my books but it could also well be the more enclosed space and and the clear view as well as the comfortable sounds that evoke the feelings easier.

I was pretty impressed too with the kids that put on a fine show when they were on stage.
They had certainly rehearsed well and know their role well even though the whole production has not finish yet.

Overall, I felt great watching this little sneak preview. Loved the choir singing at the beginning too.
But during the introduction, the religious message said kind of reminded me something like church where it says let it lead you the way, open your heart and stuff like that. Oh well.
