Gillette and Stay Sharp 101 for Men Workshop

I'm not only a hopeless romantic but also a person who's bad in dressing and grooming as well. Hence, the success of ever attracting a female to get with me is close to nil.

So then, I enrolled myself into the Stay Sharp 101 for Men Workshop that's organized by Gillette, the world's leading male grooming brand together with, the #1 Job Site in Malaysia which is a grooming workshop to address on how men can improve and better themselves.
Let's face it, no matter how much people are told not to judge a book by its cover and first impression, as humans, we will always have this natural tendency to do so. Besides, if you're looking for a job/career and there's another candidate that is equally as capable and qualified as you are and more well-groomed than you are, most likely the other person will get the job.

The workshop was held at KLPAC (Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre):
Never had I been there before even though on occasion I did get invited to an event that's held there because of the fear of traffic there and the not knowing how to get there but somehow on that day, I was determined to be there!

The building inside is huge let alone the plot of land itself and it was filled with what theatre performance was to come:
After browsing around the huge area, we made our way upstairs in ready for the workshop.
These were the ones that were going to address to us during that day:
Procter & Gamble Communications Manager, Ms Goh Seng Jone cited author Jyoti Arora in her remark about the unique collaboration, “It’s not very often that an opportunity comes knocking. But when it does, you better be bathed and dressed and ready to answer its call. This quote resonates well with Gillette’s endeavour to help men present themselves in the best light possible at all times. In another step to groom young professionals for better career opportunities, it’s our privilege to have on board to champion our effort. ” Country Manager, Ms. Chook Yuh Yng, said, “In the business of matching jobs with people through technology, it is our aim to bridge the gap between employers and candidates. Over the years, employers have raised the concern of getting the right candidate for hiring. Many candidates failed to notice that good grooming does influence their chance of getting a job offer. Our collaboration with Gillette is a good start for us to address this concern and to help meet the employers’ hiring needs more effectively.”

The first speaker giving a brief introduction to the workshop was a representative from
Where he dabbled a little in the importance of appearance and work motivation.

Then later came on image coach, former television presenter and mother of two Datin Sharifah Shawati:
She presented with audience interaction on making first impressions, visual impacts, the effects of grooming in communication and much more in her well over one hour discourse.
She shared,“Looking good is not just about throwing on the most expensive suit and polishing your shoes. To outshine your competitors during an interview, a man has to give attention to details like a clean shave or a pressed shirt as it helps assert your professionalism and confidence.”

After a short tea break, versatile actor, model and mixed martial arts fighter Peter Davis joined with director, producer, screenwriter and actor Bront Palarae in an interview session sharing their secrets to staying sharp for all their passions in life and the way Gillette Mach 3 Turbo Sensitive influences their personal grooming style and daily routine.
“To be a man in the 21st century, it pays to always be prepared, and adopting a regular shaving and grooming routine is my first step towards consistently obtaining the confidence a successful person deserves. Putting in that effort to achieve a sharp look gives me the advantage when I need it most such as making all those important first impressions in a media interview, event appearance, walking down fashion runways or meeting a significant other’s family or when your life takes an unfamiliar course,” enthused Peter Davis, a strong advocate of Gillette.

Finally, Brand Manager, Regional Design of Gillette & Venus Asean Australia, India, Japan & Korea, Mr. Lee Yik Hun shared on key steps on how to get the best shave.
After which followed with a demonstration shave with the Gillette Mach 3 Turbo Sensitive with Bront Palarae, Peter Davis and one of the participant of the workshop:
Gillette Mach 3 Turbo Sensitive razors with its sensitive skin shaving gel are now available in leading supermarkets and department stores. For more info, head on to
