Volkswagen Malaysia at KLIMS13 (Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2013)

From my last blogpost, I detailed on what I saw and experienced at KLIMS13.
I saved the best for last whereby my last destination at KLIMS13 was to head back to the Volkswagen Malaysia's booth at Hall 2.

It's hard to miss Volkswagen's booth at KLIMS13 because they can easily be seen as the largest single-brand exhibitor of them all occupying a total area of 1,100sqm.
A Think Blue Mascot and a Guitarist Jamming away to rock the Volkswagen Booth.
With the theme "Come Together. Volkswagen,. Das Auto", Volkswagen Malaysia unveiled the national premiere of the new Polo 1.6 and presented a line-up of 19 models of cars.

Over at the pedestal area, they allocated comfortably loads of ample space for the Polo family which includes the new Polo 1.6, the 3rd Volkswagen model to be locally assembled after the introduction of the Passat in March 2012.
This segment, targets the young and designed oriented buyers where the car marks the company's continuous effort to provide Malaysians with affordable German engineered vehicles.
The new Polo 1.6 boasts of excellent handling and has numerous notable features like the RCD 320 radio system and the 'Climatronic' automatic air conditioning system and Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS).
There's also the Polo Sedan being showcased which will be launched next year for sedan lovers like me. :P
The Polo 1.6 is equipped with a 1.6l 105PS petrol injection 16-valve MPI engine that produces a maximum torque of 153Nm at 3800rpm and with a 6-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic.
It's engineered for excellent fuel consumption of 6.3 liters per 100km and allowing drivers to go a distance of 15.9km per liter.

Our third locally assembled model, the new Polo 1.6 is an expansion of our Polo family to reach the most important segment in the local automotive market. With its sporty and dynamic design, the new Polo 1.6 is targeted at younger audience or the young-at-heart customers,” said Dr Zeno Kerschbaumer, Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Malaysia.

Also showcased at Volkswagen Malaysia's KLIMS13 booth is the customized Polo Edition World Rally Championship (WRC) car.
Hot from it's victory streak at the FIA World Rally Championship 2013, the Polo WRC first triumphed at the Rally Monte Carlo and from there on, the Polo WRC team went on to win the Manufacturers' Title and the Drivers' and Co-Drivers' Championships making Volkswagen by far the only manufacturer to win the World Rally Championship title in it's first year of participation.

The Beetle Fender Edition also made it's appearance at the Volkswagen booth.
Inside contains eight speakers, a subwoofer and a 400-watt amplifier to turn every drive into a concert.
The Beetle Fender has an interior inspired by the sunburst design of the iconic Fender Stratocaster guitar.

There's also a unique special 'cut out' model of the Golf to show to visitors the innovation behind Volkswagen's fuel efficient technologies and the car's advanced safety features.
It's also in the 'Think Blue' section where Volkswagen's ambassadors explain the 'Think Blue' concept which is fuel efficiency and reduction of CO2 emission - to be environmentally friendly.

Other cars displayed were the Volkswagen CC
The Jetta:
Cross Touran:
And many more which I did not take a photo off such as the World Car of the Year 2013 - Golf GTi, the Passat, The Beetle, Scirocco, Sharan Tiguan and Touareg all during the motor show.

After a tiring day of touring at KLIMS13, the nice staff of Volkswagen took me for a tea time break at Jalan Ipoh's Kedai Kopi Mee Bon:
Initially, I thought I've never been to this place before. After passing by the big tree at the front and seeing the shop, I had a flashback of me sitting in there eating with 2 of my Japanese friends. Ya, imagine! My Japanese friends were the ones who brought me here when I was way younger. LOL.
Anyway, I can see that they're still using Kampung Koh Chili Sauce.
Their variety of dim sums:
I had some Chee Cheong Fun (Rice Noodle Roll) and some Pau (Steamed bun with fillings) as well.
Thanks to their PR Manager for her hospitality shown. :D

I also like Volkswagens design. Now since the new Polo is assembled in Malaysia too, it's actually affordable.

Oh, I see. I wrote it in detail because I was one of the invited media. :)
