Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011) Movie Review

Thanks to Hitz FM, I manage to catch the premiere screening of Kung Fu Panda 2 yesterday night at GSC Mid Valley.

The place was buzzing and crawling with swarms of people at GSC Mid Valley all queuing up to redeem a free movie ticket from The Star for a horror movie and so I slip into Chilis to have a meal before proceeding back to the cinema.

The show as most will know it, is about a Panda named Po. Now as a dragon warrior, Po is set to protect China's peace.

Along came a certain peacock who's from Po's past as a baby, Lord Shen, who came to seek revenge in attaining as the emperor of China. He was supposed to be in line of the throne until he overheard The Soothsayer speaking of a certain warrior in black and white that will bring the doom of Lord Shen. Hearing this, he commanded his army of wolves to kill all pandas but Po's parents manage to stow Po away and that's where he was adopted by a goose.

Hearing the danger that bestow upon China, Po and the Furious Five head over to stop Lord Shen. But can they defeat the mighty weapon that was created while the legends aren't able to?

Although I highly anticipated this movie, I somehow find it short to my amusement.
The movie was rather short and predictable to my taste, funniest bits were already in the trailers but I'm surprised with the many big names doing the voices for the movie. Somehow, is it worth it watching at movie theaters? It's a nay for me.

But, I heard a lot of people enjoyed the movie. So it might be that my expectations for the movie is just too high. In my personal opinion, I give it a 2.5 stars out of 5.

Prema Yin's Addicted/Marilah Music Video Preview

On the Sunday that went by, it wasn't a lazy one for me like it usually is.
After the preview of PS3 games, a walkaround the mall, back home for a short rest, it was out for me again (which is a rare thing) where I headed to Milk Club in Bangsar.
It was the preview to Prema Yin's music video for her new single Addicted or the Malay version is called Marilah before she heads off to LA for some performances soon.

The night was not short of Prema Yin's performances as she serenades her invited guests with acoustic versions of her songs and some contemporary songs.

I must say, an amazing singer who really can hit the high notes.

Reefa was the person to introduce Prema Yin that day:

Here's an interesting way to present an egg. LOL:

And of course, catching of the music video of Addicted,

then the Malay version, Marilah, which is the same music video.

I captured 2 songs that she sang in video.
Here's her performance of her song, Higher Love:

And this one's Jessie J's Price Tag:

Met Rahul there who was my former college classmate. LOL. He's in a band called One Buck Short now.
He recognized my face but don't remember who I am. I don't blame him, it's over 10 years. XD

Playstation 3 Games Preview at Sony Style, The Curve

On Sunday, May 22, 2011, I went to Sony Style center at the Curve to preview some new games for the Playstation 3 console.
It was at a small hidden room area where we waited:

We were provided with some generous portion of catering from Starbucks:

There were 3 games that were being showcased. The first is Hunted: The Demon's Forge:

This guy came all the way from Hong Kong gave us a briefing on the game:

Hunted is an action RPG game that is like Diablo (a game I'm familiar with. :D)
You can customize the map and the boss to play:

Here's the trailer to the game:

The 2nd game that was explained is the much featured Infamous 2:

As the title implies, it's a continuation to the storyline of Infamous.

You play as the character Cole where you're faced with the Beast and will need to find a way to defeat this dark entity.

I like this game. You're not restricted in doing one thing and have the freedom to choose to be on the good side or bad side. Graphics are superb.

The trailer of Infamous 2:

Last game which was not briefed on was Brink:

It's a first person shooter game:

The game is available in stores already.

The guys trying out the games:

It was my 1st time there so I took a look around.

The event where it'll be held at:

It's a place called The Twelve:

The party theme is masquerade madness, so many were donning masks or face painted masks.
The stars of the night:

On the left is Amber Chia, on the right is Lisa Wong and right in the middle, Benson Chen himself. Benson Chen is only 20 years old this year and yet he's already made a name for himself in the women's footwear industry.

Lisa Wong was the MC for the night:

and there are interview sessions with Koffee with Kem. Amber Chia on the hot seat being interviewed:

Benson Chen had his turn too:

There was a vast display of Benson Chen's shoes inside the store:

And more:

Later, male models acting as eye candies bringing up the shoes to the audience to have a closer look and a touch and feel (the shoes, not the models):

A closer look of the shoes:

Ok lah, provide some eye candies for girls and um, gays:

Win an iPad at Killiney Signature

Somehow, Killiney reminds me of Kilkenny. LOL.
Anyway, I 1st heard about Killiney back in my college days where I had to rely on my friends trusty bike. Those days, there were just one Killiney which is at Uptown, Damansara Utama.

So, imagine to my amazement when I heard that they've already had 10 outlets at the point of this post!

The most recent outlet that's opened is located in the newly build mall of SS2 aptly named SS2 Mall. To encourage diners to visit this new outlet, Killiney Signature at SS2 is having a lucky draw contest where diners stand a chance to win an iPad.

All you gotta do, is dine in at Killiney Signature in SS2, spend a minimum of RM10 in a single receipt and that's it. Fill in your details in the form you're given, drop it into the box and you're on your way to win an iPad.

The lucky draw is held every week and the last one will be on August 15, 2011.
So if you're around the place and feel like eating something, how about dropping by at Killiney Signature in SS2. You never know, you might be taking home an iPad from them one day.
