Goodbye (Maybe)

Started a new full time job recently and coupled with a few personal problems, I'm suspending from blogging.

When will I return, I have no idea. Will I ever return? I have no idea too.

Green Lantern Corps Party

Green of course, is the theme of the day. In addition to the anticipated upcoming movie Green Lantern, this event is also about being "greener" meaning a more environmentally friendly approach which could save the earth.
Though not really thrilled of going to the party due to my gloomy mood but went ahead anyway once my friend invited me to go. (Personally, I think I got snuck in, again -.-)

The place that it was held in is a place called Artista Bar & Restaurant, tucked in the corner of Tropicana City Mall.

I've passed by this restaurant numerous times but never knew of it's name.
Somehow when I found out of the venue, I recalled of this place, remembering hearing live bands from the place everytime I pass by late into the evenings.

Once the arrival and got branded by this glow-in-the-dark removable tattoo:

I can see everybody seems to be headed for the buffet table grabbing whatever they can to satisfy their appetite.
Met a lot of familiar faces there. Not surprising since it's also partially a Nuffnang event.

I headed off to join the crowd at the buffet table but when I got there, most things were cleaned out. However, with the speedy replenishment done by the restaurant staffs, not after five minutes went by and I see trays of refills replacing the empty ones.

Whilst looking for a place to park my ass on, I met Simon who's happily digging away from his plate like a prized possession. Fortunate for me and my friends, the table he's sitting on was vacant, enough to accommodate us.

The event then started off with a percussion performance from a band of around 10 people banging and rattling away on simple items like garbage cans, pails and aluminium cans:

Heard some familiar voices on the mics and I was confirmed of my suspicions when I saw who the hosts for the night were:

None other then the now MixFM morning crew, JD and Dilly.
Got a shot of the mascots who looked awesome in their costumes:

Took a picture with them:

and one for the road with the gang :D

As I was heading back to the car with my 2 so-called passengers on tow, I met my ex-colleagues who were standing around (god knows what they're doing just standing there in a circle. As if they're having some form of meeting or discussion in the middle of the mall).
Of course, as most people do when they go to a mall like this when they're colleagues or ex-colleagues, they came for a movie.
As pathetic as I felt when I chat with them and I said I'm going home, one of them told me it's still early, why are you going home? Should go "yam cha" first. I couldn't agree more. I echoed your sentiments.
Buuuutttttttt somehow it wasn't up to me. -.-

2011 MTV Movie Awards Live Screening

First time ever, EVER, to wake up as early as working time to go to a cinema. haha

Reach this cinema around 8am plus:

Sunway Pyramid's TGV. Got a little lost finding my way being so early in the AM at a shopping mall I'm unfamiliar with. LOL.

But eventually found my way and was ready for the awards show!

Why the early screening is because I'm sure you've already guessed it that it's live from California. Of course, I'm sure there will be a slight delay on the live screenings so that there'll be time to censor parts they don't wanna air. haha.

MTV VJ Holly gave a short introduction before the screening started at 9am:

Jason Sudeikis was the host.
Well, having a live screening is a bit difficult here, hence there were many scenes censored off and more often than not, we're viewing commercials.
But we did catch the important parts of the show and this is what I caught:
Best Male Performance: Robert Pattinson, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse"
Although didn't manage to catch the part where they announce the nomination (due to Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis antics on stage), we get to see who the winner is. XD
Best Female Performance: Kristen Stewart, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse"
Best Fight: Robert Pattinson vs. Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse"
Best Kiss: Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse"
(The scene where Robert Pattinson ran up to Taylor Lautner and kissed him was also censored. XD)
Best Jaw-Dropping Moment: Justin Bieber, "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never," Performance Spectacular (Shocker! What?)
Best Villain: Tom Felton, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1"
Best Line From A Movie: Alexys Nycole Sanchez, "Grown Ups"
(She's adorable at such young age giving her acceptance speech. LOL)
Best Comedic Performance: Emma Stone, "Easy A"
(Emma Watson looked as if she's unhappy every time she's nominated and doesn't win, haha)
and Best Movie: "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse".

Also managed to view Foo Fighters performance and Reese Witherspoon getting the MTV Generation Award.

When the screening was over, MTV VJ Holly appeared again to announce and give out the lucky draw prizes:

The experience of watching it on a movie theater screen just makes you feel like you're there too. But so wish that we could view it without any censorship. Alas, this would be too good to be true. haha.

F.A.M.E (Fashion Art Makeup Event)

So I did the unthinkable (at least to me). I actually attended a women's event. LOL.
An otherwise boring Sunday staying home as always and cleaning up the house (if I'm hardworking enough) had turned into a surprisingly interesting day. XD

Of course, I went there with the assurance of knowing who's definitely going so that I'm there to catch up with my friends and to help out in taking photos. haha.

There were quite a number of fashion items, accessories and bottled fragrance at discounted price on display by Bimba & Lola and Elizabeth Arden.
Caroline told me she like these bags, LOL:

Some of the people I knew who were there:
Caroline and Rebecca:

Of course, Caroline's boyfriend Eric:

Erika who came since it's holiday period for her:

and the pretty lass Kelly:

After enjoying a satiating lunch at California Pizza Kitchen, headed back to Toni & Guy in Patent House where there was a beauty talk (on makeup) given by Zoee:

The attentive listeners. Oh yeah, Jess was there too:

She also gave a makeup demonstration on a model:

Poor Eric was so tired (or bored?) that he fell asleep, haha:

Caroline trying on some makeup with Erika on perasan mode. XD:

And Rebecca's turn to try out some makeup:

REWIND Fashion Show

Organized by the students of Raffles College, I thought I give my support to it.
Held at the Seduction club which was known to be Neutral club beforehand where I 1st stepped foot in it during the Shout! Awards 2010 Nomination Party

So anyway, the night started with a long queue outside the club, most dressed in black (which was the dress code of the night) and with this DJ spinning some R&B-ish tunes:

About 8.15pm, this guy who was the MC of the night, announce the commencement of the event in 10 minutes time:

After a short snippet video clip of Rewind fashion, the parading models onto the stage in designated costumes started.
Well, I find the fashion statement a little too odd for my taste. LOL.
It left me speechless. Just take a look at the designs yourself:

Look like some rabbit ear type of fashion:

These last bits actually hides subliminal messages. I didn't manage to capture it on camera though:

So after awarding some token of appreciation to the sponsors, the designers were invited to come up on stage for a photo session:

Together with the organizing committee:

After supper with some new found friends, I headed off to home.
Strangely enough, didn't manage to meet my Raffles College friends.

On the 2nd of June, 2011, I went to witness the Cocktail Prelude to the Wedding and Travel Fair.
With some chow that I gathered, I nom away as I listen to the introduction of the Wedding and Travel Fair made by Mr. Tony Sabastian.

The items that were prepared for us to chomp on:

I like the presentation of the fruits on the buffet table:

The chosen staff to model as the bride and groom in front of the wedding cake.
Such a lovely looking setup:

A closer look:

The evening was serenaded with this group of singers:

Caroline had a closer look at the wedding cake on display:

And here's the rest of the gang that attended the event:
