Step Up 3D (2010) Review

Do you know this song "Club Can't Handle Me" by Flo Rider featuring David Guetta?
I love this song. It's taken from the movie Step Up 3.

And I was invited to catch the preview screening of it yesterday night, August 25, 2010 at Tropicana City Mall.

Step Up 3D was regarding a kid named Robert Alexander III, nicknamed Moose (played by Adam G. Sevani) who when starting his new college life in New York City together with his best friend, Camille Gage (Alyson Stoner) stumbled upon a dance battle in the street. While being among the audience watching, the Samurai dance crew leader, Julien (Joe Slaughter), challenged Moose to respond to his moves.

Out of the spur of the moment, Moose wing up something and that turned into the beginning of him being a part of the dance crew called Pirates led by Luke (played by Rick Malambri) where together they strive to achieve to become champions of the World Jam competition in order to win the money that saves the Pirates place where they call home.

Moose was reignited in his passion for dance but was unintentionally ignoring his best buddy, Camille. Luke has his own set of problems when he learns of Natalie (Sharni Vinson) a new dancer whom he has taken in turns out to be the sister of his rival dance crew Samurai and intending to sabotage them.

Dance movies were not my interest last time.
I was already a working adult back then who watches DVD movies on the computer to keep me entertain. That's when I 1st stumbled upon a dance movie called You Got Served (2004). It gave me a whole new perspective about dance (back then it wasn't that big a thing in Malaysia) and I loved the show.

Although there were quite a number of movies that came out that were dance theme, none gave me the impression of what You Got Served did.
For Step Up 3D though, I would say, it has come the closest ever to giving me that same feeling I had when I watched You Got Served. Hence, I give the movie 3.5 stars out of 5.

FeeqSays Network Launch

Since I'm not attending much events nowadays, I better do some old news blog posts. :P

It was a Friday evening, July 2nd, 2010 (was supposed to be the week before but somehow it was postponed) It was held at a venue I've never heard before and my 1st time seeing it.
FnD Mindspot was the name of the place.

This is a cozy little place for small gatherings to be held. They provide a place for people who love games especially board games.

They have games like scrabble

Jacques (the big version of Jenga),

Carrom (god this brings back memories)

and many more like monopoly, cluedo, congkak, chess, chinese chess and others.

The FnD stands for Fun and Decent.
It's located at
103A, Jalan Aminuddin Baki,
Taman Tun Dr. Ismail,
60000, Kuala Lumpur.

Here's how the interior looks like.

And on the other side

Jeremy hosting the event.

And that's the main attraction, Feeq. XD

Then he goes on with his speech.

He shows and tells on what Feeqsays network is about. He also showed this funny depiction of him differing from the current blog advertising agencies. XD

Thank god there were stuff to eat served there as I was really peckish when I got there since I haven't had my dinner.

There's 2 kinds of nasi lemak. One has a spicy sambal sauce in it and the other a more sweeter sambal sauce. They brought out more food later on like sausages and fries.

Look at the amount of stuff I got from the goody bag. haha

Usher Live In Malaysia 2010

I'm sure everyone would've known that Usher gave a performance in Malaysia on July 7, 2010 at the National Stadium at Bukit Jalil.
I was given a pair of ticket to watch him in action at the Blue Rock free standing zone.

When I entered around 8.30pm (which was the stated starting time), Mizz Nina was already performing on stage. O_o

I heard that there were other performances before her too. Hmm.
I met Michelle Teh and Xin Xian over there.
As you can see the Blue Rock Zone which is free standing is still quite far from the stage. -.-
And this costs RM 348 ? Woah.
After Mizz Nina's performance of her famous song "What You Waiting For", Moots from Hitz.fm came on and he was the MC.

I only got this ant-size picture of him. -.-
After an almost 45 minutes of interval, finally Moots came on again and announce of the arrival of the Queen. Er? The queen's an Usher fan?

Then shortly after that, they started to dim the lights and Usher comes on.

Since the stage was quite a distance I decided to focus my attention more on the big screen.

I can't believe I only know a few songs by Usher and most of it were the older ones like "You Make Me Wanna", "You Remind Me" which he sang earlier in the performance.

There was one moment Usher threw his sweat towel to the crowd and the lady who got it smell it up and then put it around her neck for the entire concert. LOL.

He did it a 2nd time too. Took a towel , wipe all his sweat from all over his body also his armpit and started asking, "You don't want this do you? Oh, you do?" Then he start throwing that to the crowd too. Funny! Haha.

Since I'm so far away from the stage, I don't have many pictures to post. You'll only get to see ant size of Usher. LOL.

The performance ended about an hour and a half later, quite a short concert.

And the place wasn't really crowded either. Well, it was on a Wednesday and the next day was a working day. And the heavy downpour before surely has cost a massive jam everywhere.

Despicable Me (2010) Movie Review

This happened quite some time ago since the movie is almost no more in the cinemas anymore.

The story is about a person named Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) who's a flop in becoming a supervillain. After another supervillain who goes by the name Vector pulled of a heist in stealing the pyramids, Gru wants to supersede the heist by planning to steal the moon. In order for his plan to work, he'll need funds from the Bank of Evil and he was dismissed off until he gets the shrink ray in his hands.

During his mission in getting the shrink ray, Vector manages to rob him out of it. While attempting to steal back from Vector, Gru discovers that Vector has a soft spot for cookies that are sold by 3 orphaned girls.

Gru then decides to adopt the 3 girls in order to get the shrink ray. While the 3 girls were with him, Gru develops a fatherly love for the 3 girls.
So then, it was a struggle between choosing to be a superdad or a supervillain.

Everyone loves the "It's so fluffy!!!" part.

And the adorable minions.

I loved this movie a lot and it's definitely a must-watch.
I give this movie 4.5 stars out of 5.

Why Vampires Suck?

Why vampire sucks?
In order to get blood so that they can survive. XD

But here are the top 10 reasons that I compiled on why vampire sucks.
1) Edward Cullen

With his I'm oh so 'leng chai' looks that makes the girls go gaga over him, he gives a vampire a really bad name. -.-

2) Long windedness
With the longevity of life they possess, they have all the time in the world and hence would always take their time to do things. Including boring you to death with their long winded stories of their life.

3) Twilight Trilogy

They totally changed the perception of vampires from fearing death by sunlight to turning glittery when they touch sunlight to being superhuman instead of turning into a bat to fly away.

4) Nocturnal Creatures
They only appear in the night and never at daytime which is bad for me because I'm kinda a nocturnal person myself. LOL.

5) Turns into a bat.
Of all the animals to turn into, they only get to turn into a bat? Well, at least it's better than turning into a cockroach. XD

6) Their Higher Than Thee Ways

They often think highly of themselves as a superior race and acts oh so mightily.

7) Their Fangs
They have incredibly huge fangs that makes you wonder how do they close their mouths with such sharp fangs in them? :/

8) Coffins as Bed
You'd have to wonder how they ever open a coffin from the inside. Best leave coffins for dead people, you.....undeads!

9) They Wear Capes
Why do they even need those capes anyway? If they're some sort of a superhero then I don't mind, but vampires? And what a color to choose, black.

10) Vampires Suck Movie

A reason for this movie to be produced.

Clive 2nd Anniversary Party

Clive Magazine.....Clive Magazine's 2nd Anniversary Party.
It was a Thursday night on jammed-up roads of KL at the superclub called Zouk. The date was July 29, 2010. It was almost 8pm.
I made my way to the queue to meet up with my friends.

The doors began to open and entry were permitted at around 8.30pm.
The funny thing we saw was that the line on the other side were moving faster while our VIP lane trudges along slowly. When we got to the registration table, we saw why it was moving slow. There were a lot of people filling out their invitation slips to entitle an entry for the lucky draw. -.-

Unbeknown to us, we enter the club and were wondering where to head to. Finally figured out to head upstairs to get ourselves a table.

The event started off quite late, probably around 9pm.

Maya Karin was the host MC for the evening.
It kicked off with a little game for people to win some stuff.

Whoever can hula hoop the longest wins.
All appears to be almost the same time. LOL.

Then there were some dance performances that was done.
Later on, fashion show commences.

What proceeded after were some of Clive Magazine's cover girls.

Then there were some lucky draw going on and then the finalist challenge of a video game.

Sorry, most of my pics is not really bright. I was lazy to go downstairs to take pics. XD
In the end, the grand prize of the 3 days, 2 nights stay at Hard Rock Penang lucky draw.

It was a really short event because it had to make way for 4play at 10pm. Me and my friends stayed on and had a blast of a party. haha
