Life As We Know It (2010) Review

Yesterday was the preview screening of the movie Life As We Know It.

Holly Berenson (Katherine Heigl) owns a small bakery in Atlanta. Eric Messer (Josh Duhamel) is a soon-to-be technical sports director. They knew each other because their friends married each other. (Am I confusing you?) Their friends had a beautiful baby daughter named Sophie (played by Alexis, Brynn and Brooke Clagett for the younger part and Brooke and Kiley Liddell for the older part).
One day, their friends were involved in a fatal car accident. During the visitation of their friends' lawyer, they were shocked to learn that their friends has named both of them as the guardian and caretaker of Sophie should anything happened to them.

Hesitant in the beginning, Holly and Messer took on the challenge to raise the child as if it were their own even though they have no idea how to do so.

This story is about how they strive in raising up Sophie through their many challenges while juggling their rising successful careers.

This movie is in the romantic comedy genre but somehow to me, it's more of a drama than a comedy genre because the comedy element is overshadowed by the story itself. There's not much acting comedy in it but more of spoken jokes throughout the movie which I do find some drama shows do that and this fits that category.
Nonetheless, it's a pretty decent watch since there's not many good movies out nowadays.

I give it 3 stars out of 5.
