Prince Of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010) Review

Utilized one of my free movie ticket to watch Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time not too long ago since I have yet to catch it that time.

The story is about an orphan boy named Dastan played by Jake Gyllenhaal who after his show of courage against the Persian army at a marketplace, he was adopted by the Persian King.

Fast forward 15 years after the incident, Dastan, a now grown man was with his foster brothers Tus and Garsiv and the uncle Nizam as adviser and the King's brother. They were planning on the attack of the holy city of Alamut on the grounds of the rumor of Alamut were selling weapons to their enemies.

Knowing the fall of the city is imminent, the Princess of Alamut commanded her guard to take a mystical dagger which can grant the owner the ability to turn back time for a short period to correct and redo a given situation to bring it to safety. However, the dagger falls into the hands of Dastan.

When the King of Persia arrives and being very upset for the sacred city attacked by his armies, suggests the Princess of Alamut, Tamina to marry Dastan. During that period, Dastan unknowingly presented a poisoned robe as gift to the King of Persia which killed him.

Framed of being the murderer of the king, Dastan fled with Princess Tamina's help and since then they were stuck with each other to help each other in accomplishing their purpose, Dastan to clear his name and Princess Tamina to bring the dagger to safety.

Although it was really entertaining watching the agility of Dastan and the many great CGI effects put on display,I somehow just felt that it lacks a finishing touch to it. I don't know what it is, but it surely lacks something that would make me say this is a great and fantastic film. Or it could well be the probability of me being a tad tired of my lackluster life. hmmm.

I give the movie 3.5 stars out of 5.

Recharge: Black & White Party

Ok, this is really late in coming out, but since I got time to post now and I've finished off most blog post that is required I might as well do it. LOL.

Held on April 17, 2010, the venue was KL Live, Life Centre.

The "crowd" when things got started.

It's a trance event where dancing is the only thing to do, so there's not much going on. :P

The huge stage at KL Live.

Later on, they brought in some dancers with weird costumes onto the stage to dance and be among the crowd. At that time there's already a crowd.

A mixture of white and black costumes.

A shot where white meets black.

The whities. XD

And the blackies. haha

Ok, that's the only thing worth noting. LOL.
I don't know who is this DJ. xD

But this one is Christopher Lawrence.

Erm, the end.

Killers (2010) Movie Review

Invited to the special screening of Killers on Thursday night, June 3rd.

The show is about Jen Kornfeldt (Katherine Heigl) where she recently broke up and went vacationing with her parents in Nice. While checking in the hotel, she met Spencer Aimes (Ashton Kutcher) . They fell madly in love with each other and got married later on.

Little did Jen know, Spencer was actually an undercover secret agent who he gave it up to lead a normal, plain simple life with Jen.

One morning, 3 years later, Spencer still happily married with Jen was being hunted by one of his known acquaintance. And pretty soon, Jen and Spencer was suddenly running for their lives as Spencer has a bounty on his head and it seems that most of the people they know were trying to kill Spencer to obtain the prize money.

The movie was entertaining which fuses action and comedy in it. Not too extreme in any of the genres which is well balanced. The downside to the movie would be that it's rather short and the plotline is simple and straightforward which has no surprise twists in it except for the ending (which is pretty much predictable anyway).

I would rate this movie 3 stars out of 5.

Ah Mei First World Tour Live In Malaysia

On April 24, 2010, I was honored to attend Ah Mei's concert live in Malaysia.

VVIP Tickets, yo!

Car Park D, huh.
The location it was held in was at the Bukit Jalil Indoor Stadium.

The place was really packed with people. There's a lot of Ah Mei fans out there, me included. :D

Over down at the center with the vip area and the upper decks also with the lower decks, it looks pretty full.

And then the introduction started with the backup singers and the guitarist starting off.

Then she appeared. Ah Mei appeared.....with wings!

With 3 different lightings too. XD

The night progresses with her shedding her wings and sings her heart out to the audience.

Here's a little video snippet I manage to catch. :P

I must say, I'm very impress with her singing. She don't sing her songs in a lower tone at a concert and she didn't even sing out of tune one bit or at least I didn't catch any. I'm very impress with this songstress. She's been at it for years and she's still as good if not better.

Okay, bare with me. I took a lot of pictures. XD

Some of the band members for Ah Mei.

And the 2nd half of the show, Ah Mei had a change of outfit. It's like a magician girl with a wand like stick that can actually put the microphone to make like a microphone stand.

There was a lion dance too!

For an encore moment she changed her outfit, an oversize shirt with shackles.

And there's a confetti moment!

The backup singers and the emo clown with erm, some girl. haha

And the final curtain, a bow of appreciation.

Loved the concert, loved Ah Mei's singing.
