Arthur's Day

Watch this ad! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWsm66Q89KI

It is the new Guiness ad about Arthur Guiness, the founder of Guiness stout, where there will be a day coming that is dedicated to him. Arthur's day, as it's called, will be celebrated worldwide on Thursday, September 24th, 2009.

For us in Malaysia though, there will be a party on Arthur's Day on

Friday, September 25th, 2009, 8pm at Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach.

Tickets are priced at RM103, but from now until September 11th, there will be a 10% off if you buy within this period of time! 10% off of RM103 will mean RM93.

Tickets can be purchased here ---> Arthur's Day Tickets
Ticket collection is at the venue only on the event day, 2 hours before the show time.

This party will feature the Black Eyed Peas. Other artists that are performing as well will be Reshmonu, MC Hotdog, MJ116, Danny One, and Manhand.
Unfortunately for Muslim fans, this party is for non-Muslims aged 18 and above only. Don't know why, but that's the rule laid down by the government.

Seen the ads at the beginning there? Well, here's a funny version :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YM6qclgh4Ro&

The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi 2

It's back, it's really back!!! What is?!?! One of my favorite anime, The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, is back with new episodes to boot.

I've been waiting for quite a long time for them to air the season 2 of this anime and finally they've done so.
Not sure how many new episodes will there be, probably 18, but there are 12 new episodes I know that's in this so-called new season. Well, it's not a new season to be exact as it re-airs 10 season 1 episodes in order instead of it being all over the place and adds in the new 12 episodes in it.
The new 12 episodes are listed as follows:
1) Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody
2) Endless Eight (first summer)
3) Endless Eight (summer no. 15,498)
4) Endless Eight (summer no. 15,499)
5) Endless Eight (summer no. 15,513)
6) Endless Eight (summer no. 15,521)
7) Endless Eight (summer no. 15,524)
8) Endless Eight (summer no. 15,527)
9) Endless Eight (summer no. 15,532, last summer loop)
10) The Sigh of Suzumiya Haruhi Part 1
11) The Sigh of Suzumiya Haruhi Part 2
12) The Sigh of Suzumiya Haruhi Part 3

What was aired from season 1 are:
The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi Part I-VI, The Boredom of Suzumiya Haruhi (where she suddenly decided to form a baseball team and enter competition), Mystérique Sign and Remote Island Syndrome Part 1 and 2.

4 Episodes from season 1 wasn't aired and they are:
Mikuru Asahina's Adventure Episode 00, Someday In The Rain, The Day Of Sagittarius, Live Alive.

For those who's still in the dark about what is this anime Suzumiya Haruhi is about, well, it's an anime based on light novels by writer Nagaru Tanigawa who's about this girl, Suzumiya Haruhi, who is a being that has the ability to alter reality or change the world and universe according to her whims and fancy just by thinking about it but unknown to herself! Triggered by her classmate, Kyon, she dives into a world of strange antics where her interest in paranormal things led her to form a club, SOS Brigade, to investigate mysterious happenings. Her adventures through school life performing various antics dragging her reluctant classmate to do her bidding along brings humor and interesting happenings around.

I find that the novel is simply amazing and incredible. The creative storyline really stirs my thinking faculty. It's really very good. To read translations of the novel, head on down to baka-tsuki
So far there are 10 light novels that was done by Tanigawa. They are:
1) The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi
2)
The Sighs of Suzumiya Haruhi
3)
The Boredom of Suzumiya Haruhi
4)
The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi (I would love to see this made into an anime)
5) The Rampage of Suzumiya Haruhi
6) The Wavering of Suzumiya Haruhi
7) The Intrigues of Suzumiya Haruhi
8) The Indignation of Suzumiya Haruhi
9) The Dissociation of Suzumiya Haruhi
10) The Astonishment of Suzumiya Haruhi (Not translated at baka-tsuki yet as of this time of posting!)

The first season of the anime was very nice to watch but the 2nd season was a tad disappointing. Why I'm saying that? Because the Endless Eight episode really was unnecessary to spend up to eight episodes to do up an anime of the storyline. We know Nagato was bored of the summer repeating many, many times but do we as viewers need to go through the boredom as she did?

Anyway, the first season was so popular that the ending credit dance, Hare Hare Yukai Dance, was imitated all around the world! The video here.
Even in Malaysia, there was once a group of cosplayers did a meet up and perform the dance at the then known as Cineleisure Mall (now is e@Curve).
The youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbXmsYezd0Q

But the best I've ever seen was the Japanese (heck, it's their invention) group who were dedicated in spreading Haruhiism all around Japan. Their dance here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDe7Xqw4rWY
There was even one time that they stopped midway because the cops came. XD
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xMaY6JYb1cZ
And one other occasion where the girl dressed up as Haruhi slipped at the end of the dance.

Samsung Imagi.Nation

Attended the Samsung Imagi.Nation closing ceremony cum prize giving ceremony get-together last Saturday with Jing. It was held at a secluded restaurant in Mont Kiara, away from the usual hustle and bustle and instead in a peaceful quiet area. The restaurant name:

Bijou, next to Damai Condo. Here's a map of where in Mont Kiara it's actually located at:

I was in such a hurry that I forgot to bring my camera, so I snapped pics with my mobile phone camera instead.

When me and Jing arrived at Bijou and entered the restaurant, we were pretty soon greeted by Sue from Samsung, telling us to make ourselves comfortable. So we grabbed a chair, find a place at a table and head on to the buffet table to see what is there to munch on. lol
I grabbed some Spaghetti Aglio Olio (that's what the sign says :P) coupled it with some Thai Duck Curry, then grabbed some potato salad.

The food all ready and packed to be taken home for those who are fasting in the month of Ramadhan.
Not long, before me and Jing even finish guzzling our food, Sue started with the welcome speech. >.<

There was an introductory session, with the mic passed round. We were then introduced to the game Guitar Hero whereby one person from each pair will need to compete with one another.

The game begins with the first player.

My first time playing Guitar Hero. OMG, it's damn fun :)
Since it's my first time like most participants there, we get to practice first before starting. haha

The winner of the Guitar Hero battle. They got a DVD player.

Prize giving ceremony for the Samsung Imagi.Nation contest began after that.

Jing got a netbook.

Among us was a writer named Lydia Teh and she topped up the prizes with two books of her's as a lucky draw. When Jing open her lucky draw paper and saw a smiley face smiling at her, seeing the reaction from her was really priceless. XD

Jing receiving the book 'Stretching Your Dollar$ and $ense' from Lydia.

Inside the book contains special message to Jing!

When the event was over, we head on down to 1Utama for a walk-around before meeting Koko and Kai Yik when they arrive. We stopped by Sakae Sushi to eat some snacks.

The salmon sashimi we had. :)

Another plate of salmon sashimi and hamachi sashimi.

Pay up, walk around, head on down to meet Koko and Kai Yik at Waffle World~

Banana split~

Our drinks.

The waffle. Yum yum~

The Library at e@Curve

There's a new place in town to hang out. It is called:

The Library!!!

Contrary to it's name, it is far from what we know a library to be, a peaceful, quiet place for people to unwind and borrow and read books. No, that is not exactly what this place is about. It is rather a place where they serve food and drinks. Beers, music blasting and dancing would be the main attraction. It is none other than a club!

Gives you the chance to tell people, "I'm going to The Library." and they'll be like wondering why you're so hardworking studying. XD

It is located at e@Curve (formerly known as Cineleisure Mutiara Damansara. You know, the big shopping mall with the movie theme next to The Curve.)

It started to open it's doors on August 18, 2009. The next day was it's soft launch where they served free flow of beer & liquor from 8 pm till 10 pm.
What's unique about this place is that it has self service beer taps! And instead of just the usual beers where you'll find at other club's beer taps, this one serves Hoegaarden and Stella Artois.
So head on down and check out the place.

Do you have a talent that you can show? Why not join The Library's Got Talent or Not? talent search program!

There are RM100,000 worth of prizes to be won. The grand prize winner get to pocket a whopping RM30,000 cash.
It'll all be happening at The Library every Thursday from October 2009 all the way to the Grand Finals in December 09.

So you think you have talent? Download the form from the link below and try your luck!
Entry Form

Just remember to submit the forms before September 20, 2009. :)

Feeling A Bit Down

Was supposed to meet fellow friends out for dinner and movie tonight, but I passed. I'm still stuck with a headache I head a week ago. It just won't go away >.<

This whole week I feel super down (and tired). Slept the whole day today just to regain my strength. Hope the past week lunch date with colleague for three days straight wasn't really bad to her. (I can't remember whether if those three date occasions were good or bad. Yes, I was that tired till everything that passed me by the week was super blurrish, as if I was dreaming. No difference. WTF)
Talk about bad timing, hope it wasn't that bad, otherwise, really sorry to her :P

All I want is just a simple life with a simple girl and a job that's not stressful. Why things turn out like that one? Life is complex, with a few complicated relationships, and a job which sucks T.T
FML.

The Business of Good and Bad

With the many events happening these past two to three weeks, good and bad, it has rendered me unable to update my blog as frequent as I want to. Events that happened around which I failed to blog about and probably will not be blogging about (due to my laziness and my sickness now) are:

The Good:
1) Hennessy Artistry

A really good party if I must say so. Got quite a number of photos that I snapped with my trustee compact camera. Uploaded to facebook, but don't think will be putting in my blog, unless I've decided to do a post on it again. Just not at the current moment.
2) MWR (Most Wanted Ruumate) Grand Finale

Didn't take much photo with my trustee compact camera all because I was holding someone else's DSLR camera, Jing aka Rachel Beh which she now is the winner of Most Wanted Ruumate for the Girls.
3) Movie Outing With Some Friends
Went to watch Public Enemies. Horrible movie. Nothing much interesting about it, but hey, someone wanted to watch Johnny Depp.
4) 2nd Movie Outing
Went out with someone to watch The Proposal, recommended by msxeroz and she was right. It was a really good comedic film to watch.
5) Silat Practice
Urm, dunno whether to put in the good or bad category, but then again, I didn't mind watching those people practicing their martial arts skills so maybe I'll just put it in the good category.

The Bad
1) Falling Sick
Think this happened about 3 weeks back instead of 1 or 2 weeks back. I was so sick, I thought I had H1N1! On a Sunday, I was so sick, I couldn't get out of bed for the whole day. Good thing I recovered the next day.
2) My Cell Phone and PC spoil!
And it happened at the same period some more. So I had to blow my wad and now I'm super broke :(
Although now I already had a new functioning phone and PC, I still miss my old phone and PC. My old phone is more stylish and kinda more feel to it, my new phone is kinda a hassle to type messages. And my old PC somewhat feels much faster than my current PC even though my current PC's specs are way way higher than my 5-year old PC.
3) A 3-day trip to Malacca
The trip was to be my sister's chauffeur to get her to Malacca for a Christian convention. The trip itself wasn't bad. The bad thing about it was when I started to fall sick, my head had a terrible headache that it felt like it was gonna burst, I had to hit my head to relief the pain. My left eye feel like it was gonna come out of it's socket and I had aches all over my body from sitting a long time on those uncomfortable chairs. What's worse, I said I wanted to rest and recuperate, but no, I wasn't allowed. I had to sit through lectures and suffer more. 1st day, I manage to bear the pain. 2nd day, I couldn't smile anymore. 3rd day, I can't talk, and sometimes I scold my sister for being annoying, haha. Lost my appetite for two days too.
4) Being sick again.
And still am. I'm still sick here. But I'm slowly recovering. Now my headache is slight and my eye does not feel like jumping out. My body does not ache but it just feels tired. Hope I'll recover by tomorrow cause I've got work to do >.<

The Neutral

These are events that were neither good nor bad because I gave it a miss.
1) Juice Anniversary Party.
2) Heineken Green Room.
3) Trip to Genting. (Went getting lost finding the way back to friend's house instead. lol)
