Surrogates Premiere Screening

On Monday, I attended the premiere screening to the movie Surrogates.

The movie had a futuristic setting where people of that time lived their lives through robots or surrogates as it's called. Everything that they do in carrying out their daily activities will be through the surrogates (except for probably a few things like going to pee or eating and drinking, haha). Bruce Willis plays FBI Agent Tom Greer where he investigates a murder that took place and instead uncovers a conspiracy that revolves around the creation of surrogates.

The movie is quite an intriguing watch where I would rate it at 3.5 stars out of 5.

Somehow I would prefer the movie to have a little more action in such a setting.

The director of the movie is Jonathan Mostow who directed films like Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and U-571.

The movie is actually taken from a graphic novel of the same name, Surrogates.

The graphic novel is a creation of Robert Venditti and the artwork is done by Brett Weldele.

Just a side note on why it's called a graphic novel not a comic book.

Although a graphic novel and a comic book consists of pictures with few words, a graphic novel is merely a book by itself where you get to grasp the whole story in just that graphic novel itself in contrast to a comic book where you usually won't be able to follow a story with just one comic book.

I'm glad I attended the premiere screening of Surrogates because by going to it, I finally found a really good Japanese restaurant..........Senjyu Sushi.

The food there is mad delicious and my search for good Japanese restaurant is finally over.

This is a plate of sushi salmon I picked up from the sushi conveyor belt. I tell you what is so great about it. When I picked it up with my chopstick, dipped it in my wasabi filled shoyu sauce, took a bite and set the other half down on the plate again, the sushi didn't fall apart. I've been to so many different Japanese restaurant in Malaysia and most of it when you start picking it up with your chopstick, it starts falling apart. If it passes your chopstick test, then when you dip it in the sauce, you'll see the rice all falling out onto your sauce dish. Most of it won't get past the sauce dish part let alone the put in your mouth and bite halfway part.
I'm so gonna go to this place again when I fancy Japanese food, Senjyu Sushi @ eCurve.

Some food pics with my phone camera:

On a final note, here's some goofs/trivia bout Surrogates (do not proceed if you plan to watch without knowing too much of the movie as it might be a spoiler):
