The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi 2

It's back, it's really back!!! What is?!?! One of my favorite anime, The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, is back with new episodes to boot.

I've been waiting for quite a long time for them to air the season 2 of this anime and finally they've done so.
Not sure how many new episodes will there be, probably 18, but there are 12 new episodes I know that's in this so-called new season. Well, it's not a new season to be exact as it re-airs 10 season 1 episodes in order instead of it being all over the place and adds in the new 12 episodes in it.
The new 12 episodes are listed as follows:
1) Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody
2) Endless Eight (first summer)
3) Endless Eight (summer no. 15,498)
4) Endless Eight (summer no. 15,499)
5) Endless Eight (summer no. 15,513)
6) Endless Eight (summer no. 15,521)
7) Endless Eight (summer no. 15,524)
8) Endless Eight (summer no. 15,527)
9) Endless Eight (summer no. 15,532, last summer loop)
10) The Sigh of Suzumiya Haruhi Part 1
11) The Sigh of Suzumiya Haruhi Part 2
12) The Sigh of Suzumiya Haruhi Part 3

What was aired from season 1 are:
The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi Part I-VI, The Boredom of Suzumiya Haruhi (where she suddenly decided to form a baseball team and enter competition), Mystérique Sign and Remote Island Syndrome Part 1 and 2.

4 Episodes from season 1 wasn't aired and they are:
Mikuru Asahina's Adventure Episode 00, Someday In The Rain, The Day Of Sagittarius, Live Alive.

For those who's still in the dark about what is this anime Suzumiya Haruhi is about, well, it's an anime based on light novels by writer Nagaru Tanigawa who's about this girl, Suzumiya Haruhi, who is a being that has the ability to alter reality or change the world and universe according to her whims and fancy just by thinking about it but unknown to herself! Triggered by her classmate, Kyon, she dives into a world of strange antics where her interest in paranormal things led her to form a club, SOS Brigade, to investigate mysterious happenings. Her adventures through school life performing various antics dragging her reluctant classmate to do her bidding along brings humor and interesting happenings around.

I find that the novel is simply amazing and incredible. The creative storyline really stirs my thinking faculty. It's really very good. To read translations of the novel, head on down to baka-tsuki
So far there are 10 light novels that was done by Tanigawa. They are:
1) The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi
2)
The Sighs of Suzumiya Haruhi
3)
The Boredom of Suzumiya Haruhi
4)
The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi (I would love to see this made into an anime)
5) The Rampage of Suzumiya Haruhi
6) The Wavering of Suzumiya Haruhi
7) The Intrigues of Suzumiya Haruhi
8) The Indignation of Suzumiya Haruhi
9) The Dissociation of Suzumiya Haruhi
10) The Astonishment of Suzumiya Haruhi (Not translated at baka-tsuki yet as of this time of posting!)

The first season of the anime was very nice to watch but the 2nd season was a tad disappointing. Why I'm saying that? Because the Endless Eight episode really was unnecessary to spend up to eight episodes to do up an anime of the storyline. We know Nagato was bored of the summer repeating many, many times but do we as viewers need to go through the boredom as she did?

Anyway, the first season was so popular that the ending credit dance, Hare Hare Yukai Dance, was imitated all around the world! The video here.
Even in Malaysia, there was once a group of cosplayers did a meet up and perform the dance at the then known as Cineleisure Mall (now is e@Curve).

But the best I've ever seen was the Japanese (heck, it's their invention) group who were dedicated in spreading Haruhiism all around Japan. Their dance here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDe7Xqw4rWY
There was even one time that they stopped midway because the cops came. XD

And one other occasion where the girl dressed up as Haruhi slipped at the end of the dance.
