Samsung U600 - Slim, Sleek, Stylish

The wonders of technology has far evolved the world today. What 10 years ago seemed impossible is now a necessity in most people's lives. The mobile phone is one such example and is now something I can't do without.

I started off having one of those big mobile phones where it weighs like a brick and could very much be used as a weapon! Then upgraded myself with a much lighter and smaller device which has the basic mobile phone functions, calls and SMSes. But none has truly captivated me like the Samsung U600.

I ordered it even before it hit the shelves as I know this would be perfect for my style. When I received it and got it out of the box, it was love at first sight. The ultra slim 10.9 mm stylish slide-phone just elevates me to a much more professional look. When I tried out it's functions, it just blows my mind away.

With such a slim phone, I'm surprised that they manage to embed a 3.2MP camera into it WITH auto-focus, which no mobile phone at that time has that high capacity with auto-focus function. What awes me more is it's video capturing function. I use it to catch every rewarding moment in each occasion. It's better than my 10 MP compact camera.

Aside from that, the big screen just makes surfing the internet and checking my emails more pleasant. Using it to transact my business activities buying and selling, also keeping in touch with my clients is such a breeze for me.

The light weight of this gadget affords me to put in my shirt pocket without the weighty feeling, perfect during my commute to and from work by LRT when I use the U600 as my personal music player.

All in all, the Samsung U600 is the best mobile phone I have ever had so far. Up until this very day, I am STILL using it. I guess the only future product that might top this device in capturing my attention would be a device that would go to work for me and help me earn my money!

SME Solutions Expo 2009

Went to the SME Solutions Expo 2009 yesterday to have a look see look see. At first was quite lazy to go when I got up yesterday morning, but then finally decided to go and was glad that I went. Quite interesting and intriguing looking through the fair.

After getting my tag, I proceeded to make my way to the many booths.

The signature wall :)

The booths on the right side of the hall:

I entered the less interesting looking area first :P
Have a chat with some of the few booths there.
Then only proceeded to the much nicer and brighter looking side:

See, red red color, looks very ong~
Greeted by Smilds team at the entrance, they showed me to a talk that will be on at any moment at that time. So I walked to the back of the hall to have a listen to the talk. Unfortunately, the aisle I walked down was not as pleasant as I would liked it to be! I was ambushed and bombarded by credit card promoters! Shouldn't have chosen the middle aisle. Hmpph!

The talks schedules.

The one I went to was the 12 pm, business opportunity talk.
It was about online selling platform, e-commerce, only this one they give the full package from designing the web site of the e-store to payment and delivery of the goods.
This company's gonna pick up the product from you and deliver the product to your customer after your customer has paid the amount which the company will hold that sum of money. After 7 days when the item has delivered and there are no complaints from the customer, then they will release the sum of money to you.
The payment platform they use is called ipay, where they have some local bank accounts in foreign countries so that it ensures no conversion rate loss when they pay you the amount. However, the fees incurred paying by credit card will still be deducted as required by banks.
I was also told that when a customer complaints about the product they received, they will investigate it which means you only need to wait for the outcome. :)
Wanted to see further on the actual template but unfortunately, the Internet connection seems to be down so I only manage to look at the template from their user guide book.
I find that the infrastructure of it still leaves quite a lot of room for improvement and is not up to my standards for the moment. :P
The fees for the whole thing is RM5k. But for the promo price at the moment is RM3980. It's quite okay I guess for a person who don't know how to proceed and starting from scratch. But for a person who already knows how to establish their own online store would not be as worth it. For the full package, you'll receive 500 SMSes blasts, sort of like an e-mail blast to let your customer know of current happenings in your store and stuff like that and RM2000 worth of ads that can be placed in the smilds platform pages.

Other things of noteworthy I checked out was the opening of a 100 yen shop franchise.

Costs a total of around RM125k to RM127k to start. Everything in. They said no royalty fees.

Also SME magazines were giving free past month issues at their booth.

After the expo, I walked out towards the exit and suddenly found myself walking to........

The 9th KL Wedding Expo 2009!!!

Don't know why, but somehow got attracted to have a look around!
This wedding cake on display was beautiful.

After the much walking, I went to Steven's Tea Garden to have my meal:

Had mee rebus which is ok lah and an ice blended strawberry. Good but kinda sweet for my taste. They put some lychee in it too aside from the pearl thinggy.

Back home check out all the goodies I took!

So many pieces of paper~

Spot the odd thing out? Nivea for men, they gave out at the 9th KL Wedding Expo 2009.
Also found this really interesting flyer among the items:

They stick a real 10 sen coin on the flyer? Wow.

Bad Day Today

Truly had an amazingly bad day today. But more towards a bad morning because all the bad events all seems to clump towards the morning.
First incident. Awhile back I was talking about a friendly face I met at bus stop and LRT, well, today I bump into that person again while taking the bus today. This time, I smiled at her and was every way intending to strike up a conversation when the chance arise just like I said I wanted to previously, but, oddly enough, she didn't smile at me today. At the LRT, she looks like she's avoiding me or something unlike how it was before. Was it me looking extremely weird today or something? I know I'm being overly sensitive but, what the hell? This really is a first time she reacted that way towards me.
Second incident. Being a little glum from the first incident (which probably might be nothing and me being overly sensitive), I arrived at my office building and saw my colleague downstairs whilst waiting for the lift. I nod and said good morning but I was completely ignored even though they saw me. Is it really me looking really weird today?
Third incident. While I was alighting from the lift, this ham-sap poh (perverted woman) dunno what on earth possessed her molested me when I squeezed to get out! WTF?!?! I'm not even leng chai (handsome guy). I don't even make an effort to be leng chai. I don't comb my hair at all and I look and act like a freak (in my opinion).
Fourth incident. I finished doing reports and spammed to all the necessary e-mails as usual for them to proceed to whatever the hell they do with it. Only later on, near lunch time somebody came up to me and said need to input a figure in. Oh my goodness, can't she say it earlier. This means I have to redo ALL the stupid reports again and re-send them out to the necessary e-mails. That keeps me busy. *Rolls eyes*
Fifth incident. Went for lunch and they forgot to bring me my drink. When I ask about it, don't know what on earth the waiter heard and brought me a plate of veggie? Am I not speaking correctly (but I heard the waiter repeated me)? (Somehow the veggie seemed so delicious I let it be and ate it :P) It was so hard to get any waiter's attention again that somebody else actually got up and told the waiter about my dilemma. I felt so paiseh (embarrassed) after that.
Sixth incident. It was nearing 5.30pm which on a Friday I usually go back at 5.30pm sharp. Almost finishing the reports I gotta redo and will make it by 5.30pm. Just then, a barrage, no, a deluge of phone calls come pouring in which means a sudden influx of extra work drowns me.

Got me feeling really crappy in the morning. But good thing receive some few good suggestions on how to lift myself up again and did just that just before lunch to get me through the day in a less than foul mood.
